Upgrading to DPM 2012 is possible from DPM 2010 providing you have QFE4 (KB2615782) installed and DPM 2010 is installed on a Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows Server 2008 64-bit operating system.
With the release of DPM 2012 Service Pack 1 please note there is no direct upgrade path from DPM 2010 to DPM 2012 with SP1 media.
